Changes like these are expected to be included in the next version of GnuPG for VMS, which is expected to be version 1.4.10c.

• 2010-09-08    Replacement [.vms]descrip_src.mms, [.vms]descrip_src_cmn_1.mms, and [.vms]descrip_src_cmn_2.mms files to fix a build problem on Alpha systems when using a modern cURL kit (version 7.19.8 or newer?).

  The builders supplied in the GnuPG 1.4.10b kit expect the cURL object library on an Alpha system to be in a "[.axp]" subdirectory, but modern cURL kits will put it into a "[.alpha]" subdirectory. This can cause GnuPG build failures with various messages involving "CURLLIB". These replacement builder files should detect and use either of the two expected subdirectories on Alpha systems.
